These pieces are based on Vogel's classic 1979 model for the phylotaxis of a sunflower (specifically, the Archimedes model with 959 points). We take the Voronoi diagram of this set of points, print that onto sheets of paper, then fold the paper along centric circular creases to make our own interpretation of a sunflower. We also blow a glass vessel to contain the flower.
