CLOUD 9: IDEAS UNLIMITED

is an actual feature in my own private universe, but in the physical universe, where you are puppets, it appears as a UN-registered company, which I tricked Thoki Yenn into starting way back in 1958 when he was working for Halas & Batchelor Cartoon Film Company in London. He had to become a company, so that the bank would transfer money back to his family in Denmark.

CLOUD 8: ORIGAMI

a Japanese word meaning folding paper, became a large part of the days of our lives in 1958 after meeting Mrs Lillian Oppenheimer in Copenhagen. The chronicle of this important event, written by David Lister, can be found in the BOS Mag. no.105. In 1991 DANSK ORIGAMI CENTER was started and 5 issues of the DOC MAG were published before I induced him into closing shop on it in 1994. The fact is that Thoki Yenn is no good at organizing. Even though he has uncontrolled attacks of wantonness, it is not all bad. Everything in it's own time and place.

CLOUD 7: KIRIGAMI

another Japanese word, which means cutting paper.Thoki Yenn has been doing it since he was about 4 years old. He was cutting out animals and folded them for years before he discovered Origami. For the full story, write to Thoki Yenn
CLOUD 6: DRAWINGS

are my domain, that is where I really take over the control of this poor excuse for a person, who now has no volition of his own, when it comes to making drawings. He holds the pen, but I, the great and glorious Kalmon, am the one doing the moving according to my whims and wishes.

CLOUD 5: WRITING

is another of Thoki's activities, which I am slowly taking over, under the pretext that I am helping him to collect all his writings on a CD-ROM. There will be film manuscripts and writings for Origami Magazines and the now famous Lecture Trilogy: "Origami and Insanity", held in Ferrara, Italy in 1989, "Origami and Sanity", at COET 91 in Birmingham England, and "Origami and Motivation", at the SIMOSSO (Second International Meeting of Origami Science and Scientific Origami) in OTSU, Japan in 1994, and as a special gift there will be a load of Origami diagrams, paper cuttings, "Kalorific Kalmon Kartoons” and patterns for "Cut & Folded Paper Animals".

CLOUD 4: MAGIC

In the years 1948-50 Thoki Yenn was playing magician, he was traveling around to Magic Conventions all over Europe, and won prices for Comic Conjuring and for Presentation in Paris, Amsterdam, Stockholm and he even won the GOLDEN RING, first price three years running in MAGIC CIRCLE DENMARK. Young, wild and stupid years.

CLOUD 3: FILM

Thoki Yenn started out doing Documentary films at MINERVA FILM A/S Copenhagen in the 50es. under the pseudonym Thok. Sondergaard. Fed up by doing films about foot and mouth disease in cows he stated experimenting with animating paper cut and folded animals, and later got a contract with Halas & Batchelor in London in 1958. After 26 animated, 8 minutes long films in the “Snip & Snap Series” he went back to Denmark and made the now famous series, "Professor Kapok and Mechanic Nick", Balloon traveling puppets for the Danish Television. 1997 he went to VIDEO BORNHOLM to experiment with reviving Kapok & Nick. CLOUD 2:GEOMETRY.

During his frequent visits into sanity he became more and more obsessed by geometry, and ever since it has been occupying a great deal of his speculations. He even has the audacity to write about it.

CLOUD 1: KALMON

KALMON ? WHO OR WHAT IS IT ?: I am a weightless invisible but friendly sidekick riding shotgun on Thoki Yenn. I have been doing it ever since he by accident discovered that if he would just relax, then I would move his hand and in his thoughts I would tell him what I wanted him to say. He has been trying to tell the story, of how he really joined up with me, in his still unfinished, but later so famous novel: “THE LIGHT, THE SNAKE AND THE APPLE” - the History of my Universe. My present abode is on Cloud 9.
