Folding instructions for an elegant ear ornament

to hang from the ears of your girlfriend.

This

pattern is based on the old Celtic pattern used by the calligrapher monks who illuminated the Lindis Farne Gospel.

Square ca. 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm color side down...........

1) Diagonals are mountain folds.................... 2) Edge to edge valley folds. The small part near the edges are reversed later................. 3) From every corner to the mid-point of the opposite edges. These creases are diagonals in half squares (1 x 2) This is the famous and by Kalmon so beloved sqrt(5)........................... 4) Place edge to middle fold but press flat only between diagonals. All folds sharp and precise.

5) Form the model to 3D by first pushing the middle point of the edges in, and thereby reversing the folds on the parts from the edges to the diagonals............ 6) The corners of the square between the diagonals are clicked out before the four pointed corners are brought together and either glued or sewn together and fastened to the ear clip or to a hook, if the ears are pierced.

Craft and hobby shops is sure to have a silver pin with a hook by which you mount the model with pearls.
